Qual é a diferença entre anxiously e nervously ?Você pode indicar exemplo de resposta.
According to Oxford dictionary,
nervously
:in a worried or frightened way
anxiously
:in a worried or nervous way
For example,
Residents are nervously awaiting a decision.
Residents are anxiously awaiting a decision.
For me,they seem to be pretty much same.
Of cource each of them have other meanings, but at this meaning they seem to have the same meaning.
Is there any difference in their meaning, connotation or which is often used or more formal, when each of them means those meanings?

はい、ほとんど差はないですね。ニュアンスが違うところが一つ考えられます。
If someone is anxious, it means I'm dubious of a result that doesn't depend on the speaker. 話し手は疑問視しているわけです。Ex. I'm anxious about whether the next President will do a good job.
Nervous can be used to describe something that the speaker has some control over. Ex. I'm nervous about giving a speech in front of a room full of people.

@ki-wi: I see...
what people are usually anxious about is a result.
People are nervous not
because of a result but because of some control over for what is happening in front of them.

@ki-wi: by the way...do you always see some hope in "anxious"?
Because maybe an anxious people are afraid of something bad and hoping not bad result coming.
But I don't see that much hope in "nervous"
