Como é que se diz isto em Inglês (EUA)? 1) the bin/cup/jar of yogurt that is made of plastic. 2) also the top/cover of the container 3) what if the content is jelly instead of yogurt? How do you call them?

1. It's just called a yogurt container.
2. I don't know if it has a name, I always just call it the seal.
3. What do you mean? Jelly.... made from fruit? Typically jelly comes in a jar.

1) Just "Yogurt" or "yogurt cup"
2) I would call it a lid, it is also okay to call it plastic
3) If it has gelatin it is "jello" or a "jello cup"

Bin - think of a large container, something that can store a lot of things (e.g., recycling bin)

Cup - anything that a person would drink out of or a small container

Jar - a container with a lid, imagine a glass jar with a metal screw on lid

EXAMPLES:
1. The grocery store sells little cups of yogourt with a plastic seal

2. Can you help me rip the plastic seal on my yogourt?

It sounds more natural to say cup in this case compared to a container. If you use the word container it is still correct, but I would associate it with a bigger size. In Canada, we sell yogourt in small cups like the one in your picture and in containers that you can scoop into a bowl and eat more than once. I used a plastic seal because the "cover" in your picture is not a lid but it is a piece of plastic sealed onto the container.

(Note: in Canada we spell yogourt with a u and in the US it's spelt without the u).

@krobis13 yes, we have this kind of jelly mostly for kids. My children love to eat them. Yogurt too!
