Aren’t “Devo” and “ho bisognio di” basically the same thing? “I must” vs “I need”. Can these be used interchangeably?
Aren’t “Devo” and “ho bisognio di” basically the same thing? “I must” vs “I need”. Can these be used interchangeably?

If you say “devo” you mean that someone or something has imposed to you to do a certain thing so you basically don’t have choice. On the other hand if you use “I need” it is more like an order that you give to yourself spontaneously and not by somebody else

No, they aren’t.
Sometimes they could be interchangeables, but “avere bisogno” is about a “necessity”.
Check this example:
-Domani “devo” andare dal dottore.
That’s not necessarily an urgency.
Maybe you just need a simple recipe, or stuff.
-“Ho bisogno” di andare dal dottore!
You need a doctor, you definitely need it!
