Pergunta sobre Inglês (Reino Unido)

We took in the sights in the morning.
You can take in sweeping views of the valley.

So, I've heard from a native friend of mine that the word VIEW is suppose to be used as singular. Except for the situations that it is referring to the peoples point of view. But I found this sentence from a book that I'm reading, and I am kind of confused. In the same sense, is it okay to use the word SIGHT in plural as well? and also, did I make a lot of mistakes in using the article in the sentences that I wrote, including the questioning sentences?
soa natural?
