Pergunta sobre Inglês (EUA)
Does this sound natural?
Today I went food shopping with my mum, and, all of sudden, when we were heading to the supermarket in our car, we see a guy dressed up as the Joker, facing our direction with his car in the other lane, he looks straight at us and sticks his tongue out. It was so unexpected, I can't believe he thought sticking his tongue out as the Joker for two entire strangers in a car for a split second was worth his energy.
As if things couldn't get weirder, while I was talking with my mum about a Japanese event we were planning to go, we suddenly see another guy dressed up as the Joker in a group photo in the Google Maps pictures section of that place. We wouldn't have given that much thought, since there were other cosplayers (although the Joker has nothing to do with Japanese culture), but, because of the earlier event, we were like "what the heck is happening???", "What kind of sign seeing the Joker this randomly twice in the same day should mean?" and laughing so hard. Truly a memorable day

We always find Japanese trash that washes ashore along the west coast. Stuff such as glass fishing buoys, which we can sell for a lot of money. (They're highly collectable.) Perhaps, that is just some American trash that washed ashore in Japan. Count your blessings. We have Americans who walk around buck-naked wearing only lampshades on their heads. So, it could be much worse than seeing the Joker.

@Southeastern Sorry, I have no idea what ashore trash has to do with it. I'm not American nor did I think seeing the Joker was a bad thing. Doing a funny cosplay is not the same as walking around naked. I really just wanted someone to correct my English while I also share a funny story. Have a nice day.

You misunderstood. In Anglophone culture, if I don't correct any of your mistakes, it means that you didn't make any. We keep the conversation going as a compliment or an acknowledgement that you speak our language- you fit in with us. Does that make sense?

@Southeastern Ohhh, it does. Sorry for the misunderstanding, I had no idea. I'm still confused about the ashore trash, but hey, thanks a lot for the compliment hahahah
