I believe that the tour guide will take you to known addresses, and that everyone knows.

The last one about a guide was in New York.
In a random video from the Internet, I saw a Youtuber known for NY affairs from his channel, attacking as a tour guide.
But he was screaming loudly about the Statue of Liberty. I got that scare with his crazy way in the video.

Acredito, que o guia turístico, vai levá-lo  aos endereços conhecidos, e que todos conhecem.

A última sobre guia, foi em Nova York. 
Em um vídeo aleatório da Internet, vi um Youtuber conhecido  por assuntos de NY de seu canal, atacando de guia turístico.
Mas ele gritava bem alto sobre a Estátua da Liberdade. Levei aquele susto com o jeito doidão dele no vídeo.

@FluffyPancakes I never had problems in Porto Alegre, but Brazil is a country with much social disparity, poverty and, as a result, urban violence. 
Latin America is not Scandinavia,🤷‍♀️you have to be careful. 
There are things you can do in order to have a safer travel: use a secret bag, be aware of who is around you, avoid some areas at night, avoid wearing expensive jewellery, avoid using the cell phone or camera in some streets…
You’ll be fine as long as you take some precautions :)

@FluffyPancakes  you need to know that sexual violence is a serious problem. Traveling alone through Brazil is a different experience for females. If you are a woman you need to be mOre careful in some areas.

I used to work in hotels and I know thousands of gringos who had great time in Brazil.

it depends of the place in Brazil you're visiting. there are lots of safety places where you can traveling on your owns, and others where would be good have a tour guide.

but is not only about security, if you want to know a especific place with all details, is really good to hire a tour guide.
 
Brazil is a large country, even me being a brasilian don't know all the places.

I see it. I live in Midwest region of Brazil, the capital, and it's a calm region. I think the parties in RJ and other places is more in certain dates during the year. In an standard day is normal like any other country in the world.

in northern in Brazil is sunny, hot, and humid, and it rains a lot. in Midwest is more like a dry wether, but depending of the season, it rains or it's sunny. in the south is more cold.

but in every region really depends the season. spring, summer, winter , autumn

Olá, como você disse que não gosta muito de praias e festas e prefere lugares calmos eu acho que um guia pode não ser uma boa escolha ainda mais se for um guia turístico com mais outras pessoas porque ele vai te levar onde as pessoas costumam ir mais, mas isso vai depender muito do guia e tem guias turísticos que podem te fornecer informações sobre as coisas então tem que pesar o que vai ser melhor pra você, o que você esta procurando. Aqui tem muitos lugares calmos mais também tem muitos lugares agitados e movimentados e muitos brasileiros adoram uma festa também, então você tem que escolher bem o que você vai querer, planejar bem, ter uma comunicação básica do idioma e o principal pensar e escolher o lugar que você acha que vai se sentir confortável você tem que saber o que mais te relaxa e depois escolher um lugar pra ir.
