“Set in” has totally different meaning.
If something sets in, especially something unpleasant, it begins and seems likely to continue for a long time.
1/ Winter seems to be setting in early this year.
2/ Further economic decline set in during the 1930s.
3/The doctors operated immediately to prevent any infection setting in.
4/ Worldwide economic recession set in during the early 1980s.
5/ It looks as if the rain has set in for the day.

: to start doing or dealing with something, especially something that needs a lot of time and effort
