O que significa I know ash! ?

I saw it in Sherlock, Sherlock shouted it out when he got drunk and nearly to have a row with others. what does it mean? is there any particular meaning inside? for example like a proverb? btw is my English expression correct or native? thx a lot!)

Was the person being shouted called Ashley by any chance? Very often we shorten Ashley (or Ashleigh) to “Ash”.
“I know ash” means nothing but, in context, “I know, Ash!” might well fit perfectly.

Thank you for that. I’ve been around a long, long time and I cannot think of any sense for the exclamation “I know ash!” If you can produce an audio extract of that part of the scene, to give it fuller context, I’d be better placed to assist.

It is a reference to the classic original Sherlock Holmes books. I've extracted the relevant text:

During a particularly memorable scene in [The Sign of Three], Sherlock declares proudly that he “knows ash!” This references the fact that Holmes has penned a monograph on the subject of tobacco ash, first mentioned in A Study in Scarlet. Holmes uses this skill-set to figure it all out in The Hound of the Baskervilles and The Valley of Fear. This reference might also refer to the real-life Sherlock Holmes fan society The Adventuresses of Sherlock Holmes (ASH for short), a scion of The Baker Street Irregulars, which was founded by female fans of the great detective, since the original Irregulars didn’t originally allow ladies!
