some things I found online:
Capable is more of a mentality. Able is more of a physical idea.
able - if someone or something is able to do something, they have skills or qualities which make it possible for them to do it. capable - if a person or thing is capable of doing something, they have the ability, capacity, or potential to do it.

it is similar, but "be capable of" is also somewhat like "can" 😅
It is okay if you don't get the difference right away, because most native speakers will not really pay attention to the difference. As well, it doesn't sound horribly wrong if you mix it up.
Just try to think of it like this:
be able to = for things that you can do with your body
- sports
- movements
be capable of = for things you can only do with your mind
- thinking
- making decisions
