@soyaaa They are commonly used interchangeably, as the differences between them are very thin. In American English sometimes speakers will use farther for physical locations and further for figurative. Another good point is to translate further as "moreover". Further can also be used as a verb, an adverb or an adjective. Farther cannot be used as a verb and is limited to its primary meaning most of the times.
