Pergunta sobre Inglês (Reino Unido)
We zip "over" to York...does it need "over"? And would you tell me why?
What's the difference between "zip" and "zip over"?
ーHead for Bath and York. England's easy urban delights. In Bath we'll explore a Roman hot springs, immerse ourselvs in Gorgian elegance, and cruise the canals. Then we zip "over" to York where we'll marvel at England's finest gothic church, rumble York's wonderfully reserved marvel quarter, meet the morris dancers and lots more.

@sa_ra_ You could say ‘Let’s zip to New York for the weekend.”
You can say “zip across” etc.
It’s informal so a bit flexible.

@sa_ra_ it does need “over” to make sense. Zip would be used when talking about zipping up a jacket or a bag, while “zip over” would mean to go somewhere quickly.
