It depends on how you answer the question you are given. You could be listing the things you have done, or affirming that you are familiar with what is being asked of you
Person A: What sports did you play in high school?
You: I played baseball.
Person A: Do you know the rules?
You: Yes, I have played baseball.
Or you can switch it around.
Person A: What sports did you take part in?
You: I have played baseball, soccer and cricket.
Person A: Do you know the rules?
You: Yes, I played baseball in high school.
You might feel more comfortable adding a little more to your answers to see if it feels right to you.

There not really a difference but "I have played baseball" sounds more like once in your life lile a long time ago you played baseball and "I played baseball" sound more recent. It depends the context of the sentence.

I played baseball indicates that you started playing baseball [in the past] and stopped playing baseball [in the past]. It's already in the past. Simple past tense.
I have played baseball indicates that you played baseball multiple times for an unspecified amount of time sometime between [the past] and [the present], which means that you could still be playing baseball a week from now. Present perfect tense.
