A:
Are facing (are facing with is not correct, are faced with is correct)
I ran is correct
I don't know what to tell you for #3, because I think both are possible. If the aircraft are low to the ground and nearby, the sound could be deafening, so loud that you can not hear anything. If the aircraft are far away, maybe you can only hear humming. My guess is they want you to answer "deafening" since there are 3 aircraft, but I'm not positive.

Q:
I think that "Residents dislike the plan to build a new road" may be the true reason why a new road should not be built although it was also argued that the development would be unnecessary, as there were plans to improve the rail service through the area further into the future. I don't really understand why "residents did not like it" shouldn't be counted as the reason. soa natural?
A:
Overall very good but you should add a comma or semicolon before “although” to make the sentence more grammatically correct. Also I wouldn’t use a contraction in the second sentence (do not instead of don’t) because it doesn’t fit the more formal tone.
There is something a little unnatural about “further into the future” but I’m not sure what it is...but “in the future” would have basically the same meaning.
